A Little Biography
Allison Jackson began piping at age 16, earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Theory from Central Washington University in 2003 and moved to Maui in 2006. She has studied bagpipes with many world-class pipers such as: Jack Lee, Stuart Liddel, her step-mom Laurie McKenzie, Donald Lindsay, Andrew Wright, Alan Walters, her uncle Dan Diessner, and many others. She joined our island's only pipe band, the Isle of Maui Pipe Band, in March of 2009 of which she currently serves as Pipe Major.
Cary Ritt provides rhythm guitar on a 12-string to compliment the broad open sound of the pipes. He also brings fun-loving enthusiasm into his drumming while also being a serious student of the craft having studied for over 2 years with one of the top Scottish pipe band drummers in the world, Reid Maxwell.
Please visit www.isleofmauipipeband.com for more information on the local pipe band.
